FAVORITE MYTHICAL SPECIES

Lions, Vampires and Weres -  Oh my!

I am reading The Iron Daughter and I think there are more different creatures in this book than any I have ever read: They even have Phoukas, the creature who was Jimmy Stewart's invisible friend in the 1950 movie Harvey, probably one of the best movies ever made.

In The Iron Daughter the first Phouka can change shapes at will.  Apparently, in Harvey he took the form of a giant bunny.

What are your favorite mythical species and what is it about them that makes them your favorites?  Or, what are your least favorites? It can be a species as portrayed in one book/film or series.

I would love to know!

I really like faeries - not the bad faeries though.   They have an interesting morality so different from our own.  So they can be totally sybaritic and yet cannot lie.

I do like pixies or piksies, and all the sylph-like creatures. They are very sensual and in good shape. Depending on the book, I like Vamps, gargoyles (leathery in The Hollows and dragons.)

  1. I like shape changers of almost any kind. Selkies, werewolves, kitsune, etc.

PLEASE NOTE, This is an AWARD FREE BLOG unless it's the international This of That Society wanting to bestow the International Blogger of the Year award a big trophy and a brand new Jaguar.
I am no longer accepting the kindly intentioned chain-letter type awards bloggers give each other and then have to give to ten other bloggers. No time but lots of appreciation...
