I am in the middle of, or the first third, of Mozart's Blood, which has a very unusual, atypical, premise. I don't know where it will all mesh, but the unique premise is enough for me to keep reading it.
The author, Louise Marley is a former pianist and opera singer indulging her dramatic side through writing. And she has written a lot; with nine books in print, on the first page of her site.
In this book there is a vampire opera singer and her werewolf assistant. She was turned during Mozart's life time. Somehow he was born a werewolf during the Renaissance. I don't want to spoil it though. Like I said, I am waiting for it to come together. And, it is a very different kind of werewolf/vampire story. I don't think anyone has ever come up with it before, so it is worth my time simply for that reason.
While my mother is visiting I have given here my Sookie Stackhouse books to read. I don't know if she is trying to try me, but she keeps saying, "This can't be real, vampires aren't real." I say, "Mom, it is fantasy, speculative -- pretend..." Argh!
I hope to have the book finished by tomorrow. Then I can give you the real scoop -- until then I can only give you the above review preview!!

Can't wait to read your review! I just picked this one up from B&N last week..:)
