"Mashup" is recombinant art, derived art. Some may call it type of plagiarism resulting from the impulse to create paired with a lack of imagination. Others will contend that this process of remixing source materials, whether they be "found sounds", literature or pop music has great artistic merit. This site focusses on the use of mashup in the print medium: fiction and other types of creative writing. Although mashup can take many forms and is known by many names, the process remains the same: elements of different source materials are mixed together (or "juxtaposed") to create a new composition.http://www.mashmashup.com/
Although I am not a huge fan of mash-ups this past summer I reviewed a Jane Austen mash up: Bespelling Jane Austen. Okay for novelty, I think it is an interesting exercise. Once in a while you can find a well-done mash-up. I do prefer a short story Mash-up; less of a time investment. On the other hand re-creation and re-mixing, adaptation has long been accepted in art especially painting.
I would imagine it is a good way to sell books, after all you have a known commodity mixed with something new.

Here are a few-mash ups

This week's question is What's your favorite beverage while reading or blogging, if any? Is it tea, coffee, water, a glass of wine, or something else?

I love the name of your blog!!! I'm a new follower from both the hop and Follow Friday. :) I'm a big tea drinker and I'm glad you strive for 4-5 reviews.. I always try for about the same and never make it lately.
OMG, I LOVE the video. Who thought that up, it's brilliant!
I try to stay away from liquids since I read ebooks on my computer. And I like to do three to four reviews in a week, definitely more when there is a break in school. Have a great weekend!
I do not keep liquids near me when I am reading e-books because I am way too clumsy, and I preferably like to post 3 - 4 times a week. Have a great weekend!
oh my gosh i love the jane austen fight club! my boyfriend even thought it was hilarious, he's a big 'fight club' fan.

PLEASE NOTE, This is an AWARD FREE BLOG unless it's the international This of That Society wanting to bestow the International Blogger of the Year award a big trophy and a brand new Jaguar.
I am no longer accepting the kindly intentioned chain-letter type awards bloggers give each other and then have to give to ten other bloggers. No time but lots of appreciation...
