Despite his own arrogance, Joe finds himself inexplicably drawn to Kat. Her stubborn will to resist his seductive charms coupled with her endearing naiveté prove to be more than he bargained for and Joe soon realizes he is in way over his head.
But will love be enough to save their immortal souls from the grips of a twisted obsession?
Who knew being a vampire and a musician/rock-star would be filled with such intrigue and such hot women? And, who knew a trip to a club and back with the musicians to their mansion would result in being turned or attacked by a mad man? Okay, the latter, what would one expect going home with strange men?
There are rather lightly made decisions to be turned or not. But, if you know that "he's the one." I guess it is okay. What starts off with one frriend just going with the feeling of lustful love at first sight, Kat takes it slower especially after her guy rejects her because she was being dominant.
I didn't like the language being used between the men, it was too coarse, and felt like the author was trying too hard to mimic the way she perceived men from the British Isles treat each other—all wanker and sod.
The big issue is that the bad guy learned that Joe, the lead vampire killed his father and his maker. He decides to get revenge and makes attempts resulting in a bloody battle between the villain, Slade's team of hooligans and Joe's team of good vampires. Slade is also intends to and nearly rapes the mortal, Anya, who they have kept captive. He assaults her sexually, fondling, but without achieving intercourse.
Aside from the language and the rather bizarre sense of how a ridiculously wealthy person's home would be decorated, this was a quick entertaining read, with lots of hot sex and romance, thrills, and violence. There is also a supposed betrayal between best friends. So, basically, Love Bleeds has it all.
