Our journey began in fire...

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness--beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private wounds... and desires.

The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart...

How weird that after reading a book with domestic abuse just the other day and then I pick this up and it deals with sexual abuse.
Well written with good balance between info and show.  Lots of sex, erotically written for the most part. The basis of the plot is the stuff of the romance genre: gorgeous, super wealthy guy meets beautiful girl with her own money. He wants a simple relationship but she's so special he decides he needs her to be his girlfriend. They both arrive in the relationship with a ton of of baggage, carry on, checked, steamer trunks of baggage. He has never dealt with his baggage and he's going to have to in order to be in a relationship.

I have to tell you I am in a quandary.  I really liked the book and had a hard time putting it down.  I was surprised by the ending I felt it was abrupt and it's a long time to October when Sylvia states in her website that she is shooting for release of DEEPER IN YOU.

I have to keep remembering that the amount of sex had and orgasms achieved do not have to be biologically possible in a romance novel. Romance is a form of fantasy and anything can happen more or less.

There's an odd, and I am not sure resolved brush with dominance and submission. It's a bit weird since both parties are recovering for sexual abuse. But, I applaud Ms. Day for taking this sensitive, completely un-erotic issue on in a piece of scorching erotic writing. It's a bit unsettling, as the issue should be.  But, approaching it in a romance story, that takes chutzpa.

There are short explorations into Eva's relationship with her bisexual, male model, abuse survivor.  I think it needs to have more importance in the plot; right now he's like a scratchy old sweater with sentimental value.

If you are looking for a steamy read, with some pathos, this well-scribed novel may hit the (g) spot.
