REVIEW POLICIES and
ABOUT ME
Review Policies
I am currently swimming in a sea of print and e-books. I am about to go under.
If we have a relationship, you're in the big six or I have reviewed your work or your client's please feel free to get in touch.
Outside of the tour companies I host with, I am not accepting new authors self-publishing or with indy publishers unless we have a relationship or I have not yet reviewed you. Right now I will not respond to any inquiries outside of previous relationships or big six.
Authors, publishers, producers or other creative geniuses:
With prior relationship or from the mainstream or larger Indy houses. I love to receive ARCs within the genres below for review and swag to give away. I will also review films and TV in the same genres. E-Books or Print Arcs.
Accepted for review:
- Only occasionally Mature Young Adult Fiction or Non-fiction at with a relevant paranormal, magical or supernatural component and only if I have been reading the series. This is a newish policy designed to reflect the fact that I only allow people over 18 to visit.
- Paranormal Romance, Erotica and Chick Lit.
- "Non-Paranormal" Romance, Erotica and Chick Lit.
- Urban Fantasy
- Fantasy
- Paranormal Mystery with an erotic or steamy romance component

- Fiction with "more subtle" magic with an erotic or steamy romance component
- New Adult with an ADULT component of erotic content.
Sometimes
I rarely review Sci-Fi except with a film or TV tie-in, romance, erotica. Send me an excerpt and I would be happy to look at it.
I do not review:
- Self Published/Vanity Press work without reference from fellow blogger or agent. I applaud you putting the work up—it takes guts. However, I just don't have the time to do your piece justice. If I know you get in touch and we can talk about it.
(please see first few paragraphs above)
- Graphic Novels unless relevant and a spin off of one of the above. I do not review Manga or Anime. There are people who are experts at this.
- Anything for readers under 16
- Horror
- Books with a religious agenda or theme.
If you are an author, publisher, campaign director, or publicist (or whoever) and would like me to review your client's work, and it fits the criteria above, please send the first chapter or an excerpt.
That doesn't mean I will be persuaded to provide a good review and I reserve the right to not review the work. I will also note to readers that I received a copy and I am certain they will pelt me with what ever they can if I am led astray. Trust me, I do not hold any punches, and while I will usually find something redeeming in the piece in question, I will not hesitate to point out those non-redeeming qualities. I also review on technical points such as spelling, word choice, grammar and research. Contact me at steph@fangswandsandfairydust.com.

If you have a specific request I will be happy to consider it.
I retain all rights to the review.
I may neither read or complete the book, or other type of item, or provide a review.

What are my qualifications for reviewing your work other than a brilliant mind and caustic wit?
- MA Communication, BA Communication, Minor in English specializing in Fantasy and Arthurian literature.
- I can be brutal and diplomatic at the same time.
- Age and Experience. What I say is true: you will find my blog very non-teen. I am nearly 50 and have been reading like a fiend since my first Dick and Jane Primer. If you are younger than 45 Dick and Jane is probably some cool retro thing you saw at an antique shop. If you are my age that was how you learned to read.
- With exceptions, I do not moon over actors, I moon over their work. Usually, even if I am obsessed with a person it is that person in that part and not the actor.
- I am not Goth, although I do own black nail polish.
- Teens have a lot of buying power but we who are older have more money and time to read!
ABOUT ME
This is a bit different from some of the other blogs I have seen. Not strictly reviews, not just news. I comment on books, trends, movies, news having to do with the supernatural, the paranormal, and magical topics. I may comment on one book or on books with a similar theme. I might talk about the ancient pagan origin of a symbol or ordinary item. You will never know what I have up my sleeve -- and neither do I!
For my complete PROFILE
Please prior to sending me a review request or a book read my policies, above.
